Campbell, I'm assuming this is you. But I also wonder who took the picture? But that's besides the point. in this photo we see a teenager who is crushed with a mark of failure. Maybe this is a message to explain the anguish of failure, maybe its a message to Ms. Froelich to give easier assignments, but I don't know. I will take a crack at analyzing this. I believe it is to show the world how we as a community see failure, both other people and the person who fails. A high camera angle is used to seem the person is insignificant, that the world has turned its back on him. The dark lighting shows he is alone, we don't help those who fail, we just turn our back on them. So I think this is to show how we react to failure, the person who fails is crushed, with nobody there to help him.

Good use of the high camera angle, it does a great job of making the subject seem crushed and helpless. The lighting however makes it hard to see clearly what is going on in the picture. I would try having a light that focuses on the subject or the paper they failed.

Haha, nice work! This picture makes me laugh. The high camera angle makes us feel more powerful than the subject, who's obviously feeling very weak at the moment. The light is used well as it directs our eyes right to the failing paper.

Clearly, the most important aspects of this photo are the lighting and the high camera angle.
The lighting, although minimal, allows us to see a paper with the letter F on it. Also, we see a young man beside it who is obviously weeping. Because of the lighting, we only focus on the paper and the young man which are most important in this photo. The use of the high camera angle causes us to look down upon the young man who is filled with grief and sadness. We are in a better postition than the young man, for we have not failed like he has.

This is a great picture showing what failure does to someone. The high angle shows the person as an almost powerless being. This shows that society and others usually look at failures as a less powerful being. Society does not like failures, which is an example this picture is showing. This is a medium shot since we can see a little bit of the environment to see where the action is taking place, but it focuses on the failure's reaction to show us his crushed ambition. The reaction that Campbell expresses tells us that he has worked hard on this assignment, but he still failed. This tells us his hard work is put to waste. His dim lighting adds to the mood of this picture. The picture is somewhat "dark" which adds to the sad and heart breaking mood. With this kind of lighting, it captures the heart of the viewers to feel the mood that the failure is feeling. It has very good centering. When we look at the picture, the first thing we look at is the F paper and the crushed failure. This centering focuses our eyes on the attention. Great work on the picture, it has some deep thoughts within it.

In this photo, it appears that our subject is a student being affected by a bad grade on some sort of paper or assignment. The use of the high angle helps to show the domination that the class/teacher has over the student who’s receiving a bad grade. The lighting is dark and adds to the “glumness” and the emotion of the character. (Also a view of the subject’s face would be a prime way to show their expression). Overall this photo portrays the grief that many hard-working students get when they are given bad grades.

In this picture you can tell that the student in crushed by the grade because the darkness of the picture and the high camera angle makes him seem very venerable and week. Also the paper stands out a lot so you can assume it is important to him and means a lot. this picture shows how bad it is to fail a test or essay when you expected to do good on it.

A young man is in deep distress. Holding his face in his hands as he can't even look at the environment around him. It is dark, probably night time and he has just gotten terrible news of some sort of crisis that slipped through his hands. We look down on him but don't know how to feel. To pity him? To exclude him? I can't make up my mind whether to have good or bad feelings towards him. I believe this photo is representing to modern day people in this economic crisis. More and more on the news we see this kind of picture (Plus Campbells a democrat so it doesn't surprise). It signifies the people who are falling through the financial cracks of the US Government and can't do anything about it but put their heads in their hands and weep.
